Österreichische Stiftung für Weltbevölkerung und internationale Zusammenarbeit

At the Heart of People's Needs

The Austrian Foundation for World Population and International Co-operation (SWI) is focused on capacity-building in terms of health, education, family planning and the empowerment of women and youth.

More than the half of the world population is below the age of 25 years.
As such the youth sector plays a key role in the realisation of the Millennium Development Goals. We can only reach this group when we invest specifically in the young generation today.

YOUTH
Youth have to be heard, they are the most important allies for a just and worth living future, worldwide.

WOMEN
Women are the basis for the working of a society on all levels – from the family to the community to the formal politics. Education of girls is therefore the point of origin for a more balanced development and for the reduction of poverty. Educated girls marry later, get less children, have healthier families and are able to contribute to the advancment of living conditions within the community.

The SWI is lobbying for the achievment of the Millennium Development Goals and centers the empowerment of women, the future of the young generation and the circulation of broad knowledge in terms of reproductive health.
